Given that our campus is located within a neighborhood, there are plenty of community activities and restaurants that students can hang out at, such as a Mexican-Korean restaurant called Seoul Taco. There are multiple dormitory buildings on campus, and the southern one is especially convenient as it has a dining hall, gym, and a small store all in one general place. There are also plenty of clubs, called RSOs, ranging from many types of activities like boxing or Japanese drum practice (Taiko). I would like more transportation options to explore.... Campus life, activities offered, academics, and so much more has already influenced me to chose to thrive during my time in college. I like how much is offered to students and how accessible most things are for every person on campus. I will say a couple things worth altering would be the food offered in the dining hall (more nutritious options and not so much repetition) and offering more options for Flex dollars usage, on and off campus. All this to say the University of Kentucky so far has been an amazing experience and I look forward to continue my education there.... There are always events happening around campus, so you won't be bored, unless you are a big party/big school person. Mercer is peaceful, but a tight-knit community. Everyone will know you, but that's not a bad thing. It is not hard to stand out, so you will be recognized for your efforts. Professors are incredible and extremely down-to-earth, making you feel welcome and providing excellent opportunities. They care about their students. Here, you won't just be a student, you'll be a colleague. The area isn't very walkable, but the campus is beautiful and always being renewed. Diversity is also a 10/10, as there are quite a few international students around. The courses are fun and challenging (I am in engineering), but I haven't heard of any terrible professor/course story....
