With guidance from occupational therapists as well as my 10+ years of typography research, I believe I have created a handwriting product that actually works. I specifically designed the manuscript handwriting practice sheets for the new or struggling writer in mind. The areas to write the letters are oversized - making it easier for the student to make successful letter strokes. Each manuscript practice sheet is divided into three levels with increasing difficulty from start to finish - 1. tracing outlines, 2. writing the letter inside of a box, 3. writing the letter with a starting dot. The final area of the practice sheet allows the student to demonstrate their ability to write the letter without the box or starting dot guides.
The manuscript capital letter and the lower case letter practice sheets comes with TWO different versions. The first version includes a space to write the student's name - making it ideal for classroom use. The second version can be used in a variety of ways...you can turn it into a handwriting notebook, send home with the student for additional practice, etc.
The cursive practice sheets continue the student's handwriting training - making it a seamless transition from print to cursive. If your student has been taught the manuscript/print D'Nealian style, learning to write in cursive should be a very easy process for them.
Every practice sheet in this bundle teach the same strokes as your D'Nealian handwriting curriculum. This version of handwriting practice sheets are ideal for all types of students. They are also a great alternative for older students (or for occupational therapy use) who have trouble forming their letters and do not wish to have distracting illustrations on the practice sheet.
Unlike the actual D'Nealian handwriting workbooks, these practice sheets can be printed over and over again so the student gains muscle memory when practicing their letters and numbers. There are many other D'Nealian printables out there, but these sheets segregate the capital letters from the lower case letters (and vice versa). Most other handwriting printables include the accompanied with both the lowercase and the capital letter. Often times the student can have trouble focusing on the letter they are attempting to learn because the lower case letter has different stroke formations than the capital letter - making it confusing for the new writer. These practice sheets focus on just one version of a letter at a time.
It is important for new writers to practice everyday for a short, focused time. Daily practice is an important long term component of building good handwriting skills. Many times children are taught each letter once with a page of practice and then it is assumed that they know how to write properly. Continued daily practice and attention to letter formation is required to develop good handwriting. These practice sheets will build your student's handwriting skills and confidence.

These are perfect for daily handwriting practice! My practice worksheets feature identical strokes and authentic styling of the D'Nealian letter formations. A lot of other handwriting worksheets may use a similar letters/strokes, but it is not quite the same as what your student's are used to from their D'Nealian workbooks. As a former Disney graphic designer (and typography enthusiast), I took extra care to ensure the authenticity.
