Liverpool transfer news live - Marc Guehi price tag, Leny Yoro latest (2024)

The summer transfer window is open for business, and Liverpool are being linked with plenty of names.

The 2024/25 season will be Liverpool's first campaign with a new manager in almost a decade, with popular German head coach Jurgen Klopp stepping down last month. The Reds are yet to complete any deals but have been linked with several players from across Europe.

However, Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo have claimed that Lille have rejected a €50million (around £42m) offer from Liverpool for Leny Yoro. Meanwhile, Italian newspaper La Gazzetta are claiming that the Reds are working on a deal to sign Juventus striker Kenan Yildiz.

Away from transfers, England match-winner Jude Bellingham was full of praise for team-mate Trent Alexander-Arnold after Sunday's 1-0 win over Serbia at Euro 2024.

Crysensio Summerville asking price

Leeds are hoping for a fee of £35-40 million for Crysensio Summerville this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano. Liverpool are among the clubs to be linked with an interest, although it is Brighton who appear to be moving first for the winger.

"It will be around £35m/40m. It’s also going to be important, things like the payment terms, how many years to pay the fee, and all these kinds of details will be important in this negotiation,” he told CaughtOffside.

“I have a sense that they hope to get close to a deal done for something around £35m/40m, so that could be the price. I think the next few days will be important to see how this contest will go because I think the timing of this deal will be really important.

“If Brighton will not be able to reach an agreement in the next two, three weeks, maybe these big clubs could appear and so it could be complicated to convince the player. So let’s see what’s going to happen; but for sure, Brighton are going very strong on this one.”

Rice on Alexander-Arnold partnership

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has said that he thinks that a midfield trio of himself, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jude Bellingham can be a really good one for England following the 1-0 win over Serbia.

Alexander-Arnold was named in the starting XI by Gareth Southgate starting in the more unfamiliar midfield role. He was taken off in the second half, but has been praised by Rice who sees big potential in the partnership.

“I don’t need to talk about how good he is, I think you see at Madrid every week and have seen it again tonight,” Rice told talkSPORT of Bellingham. “The match winner. When I’m holding I have just got to let him flourish and do his thing, let him feel like he has the confidence of the pitch to go out and do whatever he wants.

“The more we play together I feel like the connection and bond we have together is really, really good and with Trent tonight, who I thought played really well, first time playing a CDM role. I thought it was a good trio.”

Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has been named on the bench for France's Euro 2024 opener against Austria.

If Konate comes off the bench he will earn his 16th full international cap. France are among the favourites to win the competition with a lot of anticipation on how they will kick off the tournament.

'Alexander-Arnold midfield role did not work'

Ian Wright has given his assessment of Trent Alexander-Arnold's stint in midfield for England against Serbia.

He is unsure that the Liverpool star managed to carry out his role as effectively as England needed him to.

Speaking on the Wrighty's House podcast, he said:

“As soon as it started I remember saying to you, he seems too far up for what we need.

“Toni Kroos can get in a position because of his creativity and make things happen, that’s what I thought Trent was going to do.

"Get into a position where Serbia can’t come out to him too much because he’s in space and then he can start passing those balls.

“Why is he that far forward? If he is our creative player to break that deep block and get those passes in, how is he going to do it in as advanced a position he is in?”

Alexander-Arnold opens up on England midfield role

Trent Alexander-Arnold has opened up on playing in midfield during England's 1-0 win over Serbia in last night's Euro 2024 opener.

The Liverpool ace has played a hybrid form of the role at Anfield, coming in from right-back, but was started directly as a deep-lying midfielder in Germany.

Speaking to in-house media, Alexander-Arnold said of his duties:

"It's physically demanding but when you're playing with the likes of Declan [Rice], Jude [Bellingham] and the others in and around you with an experienced back four behind you, it helps.

"With Declan and Jude talking to you and guiding you through it, it's hard to go wrong.

"The manager and the staff, Steve Holland especially, we've put a lot of work into this role.

“So I was well prepared and I knew what was asked of me and what role I needed to do and hopefully they felt like I executed it because we got the win in the end.”
