Labneh Dip with Caramelized Onion Jam

Labneh is a thick and creamy yogurt cheese from the Middle East. It's perfect served as a dip and tastes so decadent, but is also quite healthy. I served it with Wheat Thins and Triscuit crackers as an easy and impressive appetizer or you can also use it as sandwich spread or dollop onto grilled meats and vegetables!

Ingredients: Serves 4

  • 10 ounces (300g) Labneh or plain Greek yogurt
  • ½ teaspoon (1 medium clove) garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoon chives (fresh or dried)
  • 1/8 teaspoon dried rosemary or thyme
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cup (1 medium onion), chopped finely
  • 1 tablespoon sherry vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon soft brown sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • cracked black pepper to taste
  • Wheat Thins and Triscuit crackers

Directions:

In a saucepan, add oil, salt, dried herbs and onion, and cook over a medium heat until onion is soft and translucent for about 10-15 minutes. Keep stirring and adding a little water if needed to keep the onions from sticking to the bottom of the pan.

Add the sugar and vinegar, and cook for a further 10 minutes until jammy, caramelized and any liquid has evaporated. Season with pepper to taste.

In a bowl, add garlic, the Labneh or yogurt, the chives and season to taste.

When ready to serve, add the yogurt mixture to a serving bowl, top with caramelized onions and drizzle with a little olive oil. Serve with Triscuit or Wheat Thin crackers.

Smokey Taco Bowl Salad

This recipe is a sure crowd-pleaser, and a scaled-up version of my favorite Taco Bowl lunch! This taco bowl salad has all of my favorite taco ingredients, but you can customize it with your own favorite flavors and use any meats and vegetables you like to build up your salad layers!

For this taco bowl recipe, I use shredded, smoked chicken. You can get Publix Deli Smoked Chicken Halves at the Deli counter. Alternatively, you could also cook up a few plain chicken breasts or use a regular Rotisserie chicken, then add a little smoked paprika to the dip to get that rich, smoky flavor!

For an interactive serving suggestion: Add all the prepared and chopped ingredients on the table and let your family enjoy creating and customizing their own salad bowls!

Party Ideas | Party Printables Blog: Game Day Favorite Recipes, DIY Decor & FREE Football Printables (9)

Ingredients: Serves 4

2 Publix Deli Smoked Chicken Halves, shredded

Mission Tortilla Chips

1 sachet Hidden Valley Ranch Dry Dip

2 cup sour cream or natural Greek yogurt

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup red pepper, diced

1 cup green pepper, diced

1 cup yellow pepper, diced

2 tablespoon sliced chilies of your choice (optional)

2 avocados

2 cup iceberg lettuce, finely chopped

1/2 cup red onions, finely chopped

1 cup cooked beans of your choice (I used black beans)

1 cup sweetcorn

fresh lime or lemon juice

Directions:

Chop the avocados into rough chunks and drizzle in a little lime or lemon juice to prevent it from browning. Set aside.

In a bowl, mix the dry dip sachet contents with the sour cream.

Layer the tortilla chips on the sides of a casserole dish.

Add half the lettuce and half the chicken on top.

Drizzle 1/3 of the ranch dip generously on top of the chicken and lettuce layer.

Scatter the peppers, beans, avocados, chilies, sweetcorn and onions as the next salad layer.

Repeat the layers if needed with remaining ingredients.

Add the rest of the dip on top and sprinkle with cheese to garnish.

Serve more tortilla chips and the remaining dip on the side as extra toppings.

DIY Football Decor

For the decor of my table, it was super quick and easy too! I tried to use mostly decor items and props I already had at home, in a color palette of green, black and browns.

DIY Football Pitch Table Runner

For the table runner, I used a roll of green wallpaper (you could use gift wrapping paper too) and added a few white lines and markings with white sticky tape and cut-out numbers made with a cutting machine. This emulated the football pitch perfectly and was so inexpensive too!

TIP: If you don't have a cutting machine, you can use stickers or even draw the numbers on by hand using a white chalk pen!

DIY Football Coasters

The football coasters are always so fun to scatter around the house during football season!

I basically used cork tiles and chalk pens to create them. Easy or what?! :)

You can see the full DIY project here.

FREE Football Printables

For the chalkboard printable sign and the “foam hand” printables, you can download them for FREE here.

I used the foam hand printables to decorate the table, and added the sign to a DIY clipboard, which you can see here.
